Narodni dom Maribor is a public institute, founded in September 1992. In 2022, it celebrated its 30th anniversary. On this occasion, an extensive monograph, called The Gate of The City - 30 Years of Narodni dom Maribor, was published. Through fiction, professional and other texts, the monograoph places the institution's three decades of activity in the wider context of the city, culture and society, past and future.

Thoughts, essays, short thoughts and memories were contributed by many prominent cultural creators from Maribor, including Tone Partljič, Franci Pivec, Primož Premzl, Jerneja Ferlež, Mitja Rotovnik, Svetlana Makarovič, Vladimir Rukavina, Nikolaj Sajko, Karmina Šilec, Richard Tognetti, Magdalena Tovornik, Vid Kmetič.

The monograph was edited by Karolina Babič, Phd., archive material and history were edited by Špela Valadžija, and designed by Studio 8.
