About Karantena

The whole complex of the former KPD Maribor was built before 1900 as a typical five-pointed house, a former male penitentiary, one of the most modern ones in Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Karantena got its name after the part of the object where the former penitentiary hospital was located.

All tracts of the objects with their vicinity are subject to the cultural conservation regime.
