The cult and legendary group CCR - Creedence Clearwater Revival was one of the most successful in the world in the late 60s and early 70s of the last century. With hits such as Suzie Q, Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Who'll Stop the Rain, Hey Tonight, Have You Ever Seen the Rain and many more, Johnny "Guitar" Williamson and John Doyle of "The Troggs" on touring the world for almost 20 years. With the group CCRevived, they completely impressed 100,000 people in Samara, Russia, 80,000 visitors in Warsaw, Poland and also an impenetrable crowd in Turin and Rome, Italy.
Born in 1947, Johnny "Guitar" Williamson, who played some live shows with the original band CCR in the 1990s, has shaped the English and international blues scene for 50 years, including as a member of the world-famous Norwegian cult rock band "Titanic". (1970–1979). Their hit song "Sultana" reached number one on the charts in seven countries around the world. Later, for more than a decade, Williamson was the guitarist for the legendary group The Animals and for Creedence Clearwater Revived, which is considered "the world's leading CCR tribute band".
United Blues & Rock Explosion with his partner, singer and guitarist Pete Frampton is currently the latest project with the aim of presenting the music of excellent and selected musicians from different parts of the world - Great Britain, Germany, Argentina and Croatia, who like to play together.
United Blues & Rock Explosion, with its mixture of blues, southern rock and soul with the spirit of Woodstock, guarantees an exceptional and diverse blues line-up. The four singers in the band - Pete "Sarge" Frampton, George Glover and guests John Doyle and Johnny "Guitar" Williamson bring to the stage a wide range of interpretations, styles and their own compositions. They make every audience "jump and go wild". For more than 30 years, George Glover has been the musical foundation of the legendary Climax Blues Band, who are regular guests of rock festivals, stadiums and clubs all over the world. Basically, this great musician has been an influential part of the British blues scene for over 40 years. As well as still playing rock with the CBB band, he has formed various bands over the last decade under the leadership of German blues musician Ray Frick, such as The Blues Hunt with Lester Hunt on guitar and vocals and the British Blues & Rock Explosion, who tour and festivals with guest musicians such as Steve Gibbons, Danny Handley (Animals & Friends), Keith Thompson, Danny Bryant and many others. United Blues & Rock Explosion brings an exciting live show with the most outstanding musicians and some of the legendary frontmen of the British blues and rock scene.
The "United Blues & Rock Explosion" project will also present a special guest: Odin "Bluesboy" Sokač. The talented fourteen-year-old music lover and the youngest Croatian blues star attracted the attention of some of the strongest genre names and ambassadors of the Croatian blues scene, the most famous organist Kreša Oremuš and Boris Hrepić Hrepa (Sunnysiders). Odin's rise on the Croatian blues-rock scene began in 2022 with the release of his debut single "The Wild West War" on the Dancing Bear label. The anthemic blues-rock composition first impresses with its viscous alternative rock sound and strong rhythms. After many live performances, from the Thrill Blues Festival and the 1st Međimurje Blues Festival to a solo performance this summer in Pag, Odin performed a project at the Swiss Vallemaggia Magic Blues Festival, where he personally impressed Ray Frick, an icon of the German blues scene and the founder of the united blues & rock of the Explosion project. In the company of these legends, Odin will present rich and inspiring solo material in Maribor, which he will soon publish on his first studio release of the Dancing Bear production.
In Maribor, they will impress Slovenian visitors with a selection of well-known and cult compositions. The program will also include the hits of the legendary groups Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Allman Brothers and ZZ Top. Let's enjoy rock'n'roll and blues from the 60s and 70s with artists who lived this music and were part of it when everything became "big and wild".
