Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, unfortunately, cannot conduct the concert due to compelling personal reasons.

“Hearing this orchestra is a real pleasure (...) it convinces listeners with its qualities: agile musicianship, flight with clear, tangible contours, topped off by a warm sound, which is not something that can be taken for granted in such an intensive chamber orchestra.” With this praise, the critic writing in the Süddeutsche Zeitung captured the essential features of Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, which is distinguished by an energetic musical style and an individual orchestral sonority. As a sensitive accompanist for outstanding soloists, the orchestra is a welcome guest on the most famous international stages, such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Cologne Philharmonic, the Hamburg Philharmonic on the Elbe and the Rheingau Festival.

As well as introducing democratised orchestra management and musicianship, Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn took the additional step of appointing an artistic partner alongside the principal conductor. This position went to the young Austrian violinist and conductor of Armenian origin, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, whom we have already had an opportunity to admire in Maribor as a brilliant violin virtuoso. As the youngest artist-in-residence of Wiener Musikverein in Vienna, Tjeknavorian quickly rose to being one of the most sought-after musicians of his generation. Recently, he has also enjoyed great success as a conductor, as evidenced by his performances with Tonkünstler Orchestra, the Milan Scala Philharmonic and the Graz Philharmonic. Two compelling young soloists –  trumpeter Simon Höfele, who is a recipient of the most important German music prize Opus Klassik, and pianist Elisabeth Brauss, who has been praised by Gramophone magazine for “the maturity and sophistication of her thoughtful interpretations” which “would be the pride of any pianist twice her age” – will perform in two brilliant concertos for trumpet and piano, thus adding additional freshness and charm to the concert evening.
